Morphing with Logos

I know I've been on a logo kick but I figure why not share all the constant changes that are happening to logos we see everywhere today.
Fun Fact:
Logo's were first used during the Swiss/International Arts Era in Germany for a airlines called: Lufthansa!

Enjoy this video. Some interesting facts are also provided.

Renaissance?

Do I really live in the Renaissance era?
No...My city is just very very old and empty, we have signs like these in funky designs everywhere. I picked this one because I love the renaissance themed things.

I figured it's a design closely related to the Victorian style. Not that common unless you are from danville.

Walmart when will you learn?

About 2 years ago walmart had finally went through construction in changing its front from a white and blue swiss form of design to a brown and white slim font style. Apparently this form was around since 2008 but still it amazes me that Walmart's logo has changed 5 times in over 50 years.

Festival Of Trees Logo.

The festival of trees is coming up in my city, I know every year there will be a huge banner hanging over Danville's civic center with this exact logo. I figure with all the edu-ma-cation :P i am getting I could describe the type of design. Correct me if I am wrong but I believe with its visual metaphors and conceptual imagery, I say the logo is done in a contemporary design.
What attracted me to this banner was the "I."
I've been seeing this logo ince I was about 6 and was always attracted to the very creative idea of replacing the "I" with a christmas tree.

Fail Whale

Well this isn't how i would like to be welcomed...But I am sure we have all ran across one of these already.
The "Shell..or in this case hell" logo and concept are both forms of contemporary. The font is simple yet nice and clean. This was actually a picture I took over summer in IN. WHat drew me to it was this awkward coincidence.

Du Freak??

Ah the nerdy half of me. This is a flyer for a new shop that opened up in a street market building near my house. As you can see, the DC themed font and comic/cartoon villans Joker and his beloved Harley Quinn,
give this design and layout an American Kitsch theme. The artwork was well done, whether the designers illustrated it or not, and the font was positioned quite nicely. What attracted me this flyer was both the characters and the layout. I am a huge DC/Marvel fan and assumed at first it was a Batman fan club. After reading it, I found out it's a comic book like store with piles of comic books, posters, records, etc. The store itself was pretty bad ass, and think it's a perfect store for those who are major DC/Marvel fans :P.

The Incomplete Figures

"Figures emerge into the future. From this institution their minds and hearts have been prepared and stirred into taking flight, although they are still incomplete"
- Andrew Jumonville

This is a statue on my other community college's campus.

What really attracted me to this piece of work was the fact that this these statues were incomplete. Not one arm or leg was completed. How odd.

When I read the little engravement, I sorta had a hard time making out the message.

To me, I believe the message is that while there bodies are incomplete, their minds and hearts are keeping them on their dreams of emerging into the future.
